Count to 20 game

Most preschoolers and kindergarteersn can count to 10, but many parents forget to reinforce numbers 11-20.  And these happen to be the hardest numbers to get because they don’t follow the same pattern as the numbers 20-100. So practicing how to count to 20 and visualizing numbers 1-20 is very important! This count to 20 game is such a fun, free printable bug counting game to make practicing counting FUN with a spring math or insect theme. Basically, in this counting forward and backwards to 20, kids will draw acard with instructions for adding or subtracting bugs from their bug jar collection. As children work through the game board they are trying to collect all 20 bugs to win!

  1. Print either COLOR or BLACK & WHITE game board and cards.
  2. I suggest using a laminator for durability.
  3. Cut apart cards
  4. You will need a piece to move (can be a pom pom, bug, favorite character, or personal game piece like we use)
  5. Optional: Counting Bugs

Place cards in a stack next to the game board and starting piece next to board. Draw first card and follow instructions (adding or subtracting bugs). Move game piece. Repeat until you catch 20 bugs.

This can be played alone or with a friend.
