Well, the cakes got skimpier and skimpier with the layers to the point where they just weren’t that good anymore. And that doesn’t even address the increasing cost.
So I decided I needed to create a Dairy Queen ice cream cake recipe! This cookies and cream ice cream cake is just like the storebought version except you control the ingredients, make sure all the layers are thick and delicious, and will blow your mind and taste buds! All you need are a few simple ingredients to whip up this cake recipe:

First, line a 9″ round cake pan with parchment paper. Scoop in one flavor of soft ice cream and smooth it out evenly.
Next, grab another identical 9″ round pan, line it with parchment paper as well, and add your second flavor of ice cream, smoothing it out just like the first one. Cover both pans tightly with foil or plastic wrap, then pop them in the freezer for a couple of hours until they’re solid.

- 1.5 quart ice cream 1st flavor, softened
- 1.5 quart ice cream 2nd flavor, softened
- 18 oreo cookies
- 3 Tablespoons butter melted
- 1 jar hot fudge not heated
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- sprinkles optional
Instructions
- Choose any two flavors you love—think classic chocolate and vanilla, or get creative with combos like chocolate and cookies & cream, or even chocolate and peppermint! I typically use about 1.5 quarts of each flavor.First, line a 9″ round cake pan with parchment paper.
