Zebras for Kids

Zebras are fascinating creatures that capture the imagination of kids and adults alike! Did you know that zebras are known for their striking black and white stripes? These stripes aren’t just for looks – they actually help zebras to confuse predators by blending in with each other in a group, making it hard for a predator to single out one zebra to chase.

Zebras are herbivores, which means they only eat plants like grasses, leaves, and bark. They have strong jaws and teeth that are perfect for munching on tough vegetation. Zebras live in groups called herds, which are made up of a stallion (male), several mares (females), and their young foals. These herds help zebras to protect each other from predators and find food and water together.

Zebras are known for their unique personalities – some are shy and reserved, while others are bold and curious. They are also known for their loud braying sounds, which they use to communicate with each other. Zebras are fast runners and can reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour to escape danger.
