In our homeschool science this year we did a frog unit. My kids and I are definitely hands on learners so we used a Frog Habitat to watch tadpoles change into frogs. It took a couple months, but it was fascinating to get to experience it ourselves. I made this {free} printable Frog Lifecycle Notebook to help the kids record their observations and to teach them too.

    • 10 page observation book with spots for weekly drawings, checking what spot in their metamorphosis they are at, observations, and questions
    • Frog Lifecycle Chart
    • Frog Vocabulary
    • Facts about Frogs
    • What I learned about frogs

We used DK Reader Tale of a Tadpole as our main teaching text. It was simple to read, had beautiful pictures, and was easy enough for my 1st grader to read and my preschool (almost kindergartner) to understand clearly.

  2. Just a comment that your download button isn't working. Looks like a really great activity though. Thanks for sharing and we'll try back.

    1. Teri, make sure you are clicking on the >> Download {free} Frog Lifecycle Notebook Here << which is almost at the end of the post under the Facebook button. I know sometimes the adds have download looking buttons, I hope that wasn't misleading you. The ads pay for the groceries =)

      Enjoy! And thanks for reading along!
      Beth =)

  3. This is fantastic. We have tadpoles in the classroom now so it is perfect. Thanks.

  4. Thanks, Beth!! I teach a HS Biology class for our Homeschool Co-Op and this will be a fun addition! Even though my students are older, I love the way you put this together! =)
    A Blessing for sure!
    Have a great day!

  5. I can't find the lifecycle chart in the booklet download. Am I missing it somewhere?
    Thank you for this printable, it is a wonderful tool for preschool teachers!

    1. Tammy, it is broken apart over 2 pages so when the book is put together it makes a double page spread =) You'll find it on pages 4 and 5.

      Enjoy =)
