We all enjoy summer eating watermelons and trying to ward off those pesky ants who seem to be everywhere so why not combine the two and learn about prepositions using this ant and watermelons positional words activity? Discover every single position that the ant can be found in and help learners learn about the correct vocabulary to use when describing the position of the ant. The prepositions poster allows learners to recognize the meaning behind positional words. Then review the new skill with the prepositions activity featuring positional words clip cards. Print out the poster and the clip cards either in color or black and white and laminate the pages. Present the printable to your learner with some clothespins.

If your learner is unfamiliar with the positional words, look through the words using the poster. Demonstrate the prepositions using objects such as an eraser and a cup so learners can visualize the prepositions.

Then present the clip cards to your learners. Ask them to identify the prepositions and then clip the corresponding answer.
