100th day of school activity

The 100th day of school is a significant milestone in elementary education! In my classroom, we eagerly anticipate this special day, usually celebrated around mid to late January. It’s an occasion filled with fun, learning, and creative activities that revolve around the number 100.

Why are writing prompts good for kids?

I’ve always found writing prompts to be an incredible tool for fostering creativity and critical thinking in children. They encourage students to express their thoughts, imagination, and aspirations through words. Writing prompts also serve as a platform for developing language skills, enhancing vocabulary, and structuring ideas coherently.

100 days of school activities

I’m thrilled to introduce this engaging 100th day writing craft that combines creativity and imagination! This printable activity encourages students to think about their lives at the age of 100. Here’s how you can incorporate this activity into your classroom:

  1. Prompt Exploration: Begin by discussing the prompt, “When I am 100, I will…” with your students. Encourage them to brainstorm and envision their lives at that age, allowing their imagination to take flight.
  2. Writing Exercise: Provide each student with the writing template where they’ll express their imaginative thoughts about their lives at 100 years old. Encourage creativity, and remind them to structure their ideas cohesively
  3. Decorative Touch: After completing their writing, have the students cut out the number “100” and decorate it creatively. This number will serve as the backdrop for their writing sample.
  4. Kid Topper Addition: Once the number “100” is decorated and affixed to their writing, students can then personalize and decorate the kid-shaped topper, which they’ll place on top of their writing sample.
  5. Showcase and Share: Display these imaginative and decorative pieces around the classroom to celebrate the students’ creativity and showcase their predictions about life at 100.

This activity not only hones writing skills but also allows children to dream and envision a future filled with possibilities.
