Use this ocean craft for preschoolers, toddlers, kindergartners, and grade 1 students.

All you need to make this cute lobstercraft are a few simple materials you probably already have on hand: white cardstock (we used overside 11 x 18 paper) washable red paint paintbrush googly eyes red or black marker baby wipe (optional, but handy for clean-up)

We did this ocean craft for kids to go along with our O is for Ocean week.  The kids had so much fun & I have a precious keepsake from these treasured early years! Once you’ve gathered your supplies, head to a spot without carpet and have children roll up sleeves and pants.  Now paint your child’s foot bottom with the red paint. This was a fun activity for the kids; great sensory activity. They loved the feeling of the cool paint & the paint bristles tickled their feet.

Help your child carefully press their foot on the white paper to make a footprint. You will want to guide them so the impression doesn’t smear as they lift their foot carefully. If everything looks good, go ahead and wipe foot clean with a wipe to avoid any messes.

Now it’s time to paint both your child’s hands red. Once the pams and fingers are full (but not dripping) with paint, it’s time to make handprints above the foot print. You want the hands to be about 4-6″ above the foot print with the handprint marks to the right and left of the footprint.

Allow your projec to dry before giving your lobster art project the finishing touches.

With a paintbrush or markers draw a line to make the lobster arm from the handprints to the red foot Now use paint or marker to add 5 legs coing off the footprint on both sides as the lobster feet.

Affix googly to the top, main part of the foot print. Just under the lobster eyes, draw a smile if you like.
