Younger children may benefit from the ability to work on the prompt for more than a day. Try to incorporate these prompts into the writing curriculum you are using now. 3. After your child writes her assignment you can have her present to the family.
4. Extend the activity and have your child create a list of writing prompts to work on at a later time.
5. Allow your child to free write and edit it later or have your child edit it herself. The editing process can be quite discouraging and prevent your child from enjoying or learning how to write. Getting the thoughts on paper is the first hurdle. Allow that hurdle to be jumped before moving on to the editing process.
