This easy-to-make playdough recipe is perfect for toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and first graders. Kids can use everyday items to create their own snowmen out of this silky smooth playdough. Plus, it makes a cute Christmas gift too!
To make this super soft play doh all you need are a couple common household ingredients: cornstarch salt vegetable oil cream of tartar boiling water  glitter (optional) cookie cutters, rolling pin, sticks, buttons, pebbles, google eyes, felt strips, etc. optional

  • cream of tartar
  • boiling water
  • glitter (optional)
  • cookie cutters, rolling pin, sticks, buttons, pebbles, google eyes, felt strips, etc. optional

In a bowl combine  1 and 1/2 cups cornstarch, 1/2 cup salt, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, and 1 tablespoon cream of tartar Now add 1 cup BOILING water and stir until combined. Let it cool until it is okay to comfortably touch.

Get creative with your dough! Start by placing it on a craft tray and kneading it until it reaches the perfect consistency. Sprinkle a touch of cornstarch if needed. To make it extra special, add a hint of silver glitter for a dazzling resemblance to freshly fallen snow!

Silk Smooth Snowman Playdough Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 Tablespoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. You need BOILING water to make the recipe so it will come together. So make sure once it is made you let it cool before you handle the dough!
  • Place the dough on a craft tray and knead to the right consistency. You may need to sprinkle with a little extra cornstarch. We also then added a little bit of silver glitter, which made it sparkle just like fresh-fallen snow.
