Teaching children about different Greek mythology for children is fun, easy, and no prep with these printable emergent reader books. Simply color, read, and learn about ancient Greek culture. These mini books would be great used as part of a unit study on Ancient Greece, Greek Mythology, or as a way for children to practice their reading while learning about another culture.
These mini books contain two cover pages, allowing children to choose and decorate their own. After this, there are six pages all about the gods and goddesses to add behind this. While reading these books, children will learn about
- 12 male Greek gods – Achilles, Apollo, Ares, Atlas, Cronus, Dionysus, Hades, Hercules, Odysseus, Perseus, Poseidon, and Zeus
- 12 female Greek goddesses – Andromeda, Aphrodite, Arachne, Artemis, Athena, Demeter, Helen of Troy, Hera, Medusa, Pandora, Persephone, and Rhea.
Greek Mythology Stories for Kids
To prepare this low prep Greek mythology activity, simply print the black and white pages on plain printer paper (to save on printer ink) and cut the pages in half before stacking the pages up with the cover on the top and stapling the book together along the left side. As these two mythology for kids books are completely in blackline, kids can get creative by decorating the cute clipart images however they desire using crayons, markers, colored pencils, gel pens, etc.
There are two different books, one telling about male Greek mythology gods and the other female Greek mythology names. Extra pages for children to write on could also be added, after reading books and researching more on this topic.
