To prepare this 100 chart game is simple. Follow the steps and gather the supplies below:
- 100 chart battleship – Start by grabbing your free hundreds chart printable. To make this game reusable (trust me, your kids will want to play again), you will need 2 100s charts that you will either slide into a page protector or use a laminator.That is the basis for this Printable Battleship Math Game
- Grab two dry erase markers and several M and M’s, buttons, skittles, or mosaic gems. You could play without the mosaic gems, but I thought it was helpful to have a 3D visual of our “ships.”
- Find an old shoe box top, file folder, or book to use as a divider to put between you and the other player.

Players take turns calling out numbers, and the opponent either states “hit” or “miss.” We found it helpful to make an x over the “misses” and either removed the manipulative or circled the numbers that were “hit.”
It is up to you and your ‘house rules” if you want to let players take another turn if they get a hit.
Another option for this hundred chart games is to set the hundreds chart up as coordinates, and calling out a number and letter marked along top and side of hundreds board {ex. B,5 = 15}. This is a more advanced game play for children ready to work with reading a chart or graph.
