With how fun it can be to work these muscles, you definitely don’t want to miss out on giving your kids every chance they can get to practice their fine motor skills. Weaving is a great way to develop fine motor skills for toddlers and preschoolers and definitely encourages hand-eye coordination. Lining up a piece of yarn with a small hole and pushing it through takes serious concentration! You could even work this lion craft preschool into an alphabet series for the letter L. Lion Paper Plate Craft

Making this lion arts and crafts will be as easy as 1, 2, 3 for your child! First, let them simply paint the paper plate yellow all over. Once dry, you’ll want to hole punch all around the edge of the plate. If you want to put holes in further than your hole punch will allow, you may need to punch them through with a knitting needle or something similar.

Cut off some orange yarn and tie it through one hole so that your kids don’t keep pulling it through. Then let them go crazy with weaving! You can encourage them to follow a general direction around the plate and not across to make it look more like a lion’s mane. But beyond that, they can weave the yarn in and out in any pattern they like! Paper Plate Lion
