One of our favorite books is The Gingerbread Pirates by Kristin Kladstrup. It is such a fun book the incorporates gingerbread men, pirates, Santa, beautiful illustrations, and a sweet story.  So why not take a break from your typical homeschool studies to do a fun thematic unit just for December!
