When it comes to the long o sound, spelling can feel tricky! Here’s a quick guide:
- -oa: Usually in the middle of a word, like boat, toast, and coach.-ow: Most common at the end of words, like snow, row, and throw. There are exceptions, such as flown and bowl, where ow appears in the middle.-oe: The least common, usually at the end of short words like toe, foe, and compound words like mistletoe.
