Famous Americans Study Guides & Lapbook

The Famous Americans Unit for kids consists of 9 people to study and learn about.  Each individual famous american unit includes:
  • Coloring Sheet (Toddler – Kindergarten)
  • 1 page Reporttwo choices (K-2nd Grade)
  • Lined Page Study Guide – 2 pages (2nd – 4th grade)
  • Extensive Study Guide – about 7 pages (4th-8th grade)
  • Answer Key
  • Lapbook mini-book (to add the famous American to your Famous Americans Lapbook)

What book should you use with this study?

You can use any book about these Famous American you’d like. Personally, we used the Who Was series by the Penguin Group. These books are written for 3rd-6th graders, but children of all ages will enjoy these well told biographies as family read alouds. There are black & white illustrations on almost every page making it come alive to young readers.

Mike Venezia has a series that are also a great pick. They are shorter, with more illustrations. These are a good choice for under 2nd grade crowd, although my K & 2nd graders loved the Who Was series we read aloud together.
