Since I love seeing what homeschool curriculum everyone else is using, I thought I’d give you a peak of our homeschooling curriculum picks for my first grade, 4th grade, and 6th grader.
Have you picked out your homeschool curriculum yet? I love the start of a new year – getting everything organized and starting fresh! Since I know I am always interested in what curriculum everyone is using, here is our grade 1, grade 4, and grade6 6 curriculum choices for the upcoming year. As every child is different and circumstances change, these may or maynot be a good fit for your family. But here is an idea of what we did (and loved) in our carefree elementary homeschooling years. Homeschool Curriculum
I started off printing off my lesson plans, our field trip log, extra curricular log, and the kids checklists. [get these homeschool forms FREE]. The kids will “check off” their work on our school punchcards.
Homeschooling Curriculum
We all “do school” together at our dining room table. We start at 8am (my crazy kids are up by 6:30 every morning). SEE HOW WE DO SCHOOL IN 15 HOURS A WEEK
First Grade Curriculum
- Daily Calendar (so much great learning here and it’s FREE!)
- READING/GRAMMAR/HANDWRITING/SPELLING -Sing Spell Read & Write – 1st My kids have responded really well to this fun, multi sensory approach of this outstanding complete language arts curriculum. [read why we use Sing Spell Read & Write] We supplement it with Reading the Easy Way 1st Grade [sight word worksheets, games, readers, and more]
- MATH: Singapore Math 1A & 1B plus daily math drills: 1st Grade Mad Minutes & other free printable games for reinforcement We love the low cost, ease of use, creative teaching methods, and accelerated pace of Singapore Math! We buy it through My Father’s World.
- SCIENCE – Young Explorer Series: Exploring Creation with Zoology 3: Land Animals of the Sixth Day (see completed science lesson here)
- SOCIAL STUDIES – We are studying Old Testament Times, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Ancient and Africa (see completed social studies lessons here)
- ART – we are continuing to use Mike Venezia books and art projects from Discovering Famous Artists to learn about famous artists and make art.
- MUSIC – we are using Color the Classics to learn about famous composers and their music
4th Grade Curriculum
- MATH; Singapore Math 4A & 4B plus daily math drills: 4th Grade Mad Minutes & other free printable games for reinforcement We love the low cost, ease of use, creative teaching methods, and accelerated pace of Singapore Math! We buy it through My Father’s World.
- GRAMMAR; Bob Jones English 4 (We are also using a variety of my free language arts games & activities)
- SPELLING: A Reason for Spelling Level D (great for multi sensory learners and Bible based)
- HANDWRITING: A Reason for Handwriting Level D
- VOCABULARY: Wordly Wise 4 (fantastic vocabulary builder)
- BIBLE: Who is God along with student workbook and I Witness Biblical Archeology
- SPANISH: Spanish for You and Rosetta Stone Spain Spanish – Level 2

- VOCABULARY: Wordly Wise 6 (fantastic vocabulary builder)
