Take a look at the game board, you will see the instructions, the piggy bank and the spinner circle. Inside the spinner circle is each one of the coins: 1, 5, 10, and 25.
Once you have printed the whole game, there is a tiny bit of prep to help you set it up.
- Cut the coins out (there are two choices to choose from)
- Take a brad and push it through the center of the spinner circle. Now you can attach a clothes pin, paper clip, safety pin or even a bobby pin to the brad. This will become your spinner.
- Put the coins into a pile on the table.
Fun money games
This can be played with one person or two or ten, it doesn’t matter.
Start by spinning your spinner. Whatever it lands on is what you will put into the piggy bank. So if you land on a 1 cent, put in a penny. If it lands on a 25 cent, put in a quarter. Keep this going until someone lands on the hammer. When someone lands on the hammer, it ‘breaks the piggy bank’. This means you must empty the coins out of the piggy bank. You can play again or this can be the end of the game.
Teaching Money to Kindergarten
How fun is this? A great game for a math center, for individual play or for a way for you to bond with your little one while they are learning something new.
