If your child is interested in origami, this is a great place to start, too. It’s a simple folded paper bookmark that doesn’t require a ton of folding skills, like other origami may.  Elephants are such enormous animals with funny trunks that truly fascinate children. I have loved them for many years and now my daughter does too. So when my daughter asked to make a new bookmark, I knew we had to incorporate an elephant somehow. This Elephant Craft is the perfect quick project for kids. Use this elephant craft preschool  to make a fun folded bookmark craft for toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners, grade 1, and grade 2 students.

Start by folding one corner across, diagonally so that you create a perfect square. Cut off the excess, but save it for the trunk and ears. Fold the square in half, diagonally to make a triangle.

Fold the top layer of paper, from the top point, down to meet in the center of the bottom of the triangle.

Next, bring the corner on the right side to the bottom middle. Make the crease solid and then unfold. Do the same on the left side.

Now bring the right side corner up to the top. Repeat with the left side. Tuck the tops into the pocket that is now created. The bookmark part is now created and it’s time to add the elephant characteristics: The ears and trunk.
