If you are disappointed that Disney’s old Fastpass system is gone because you can only get 3 Fastpass pluses, don’t be! You can now get most more fastpass + and here is how.

What’s the Deal with Disney Fastpass +

When Disney decided to discontinue their old Fastpass system to replace it with Fastpass + I had mixed feelings. I love that I can book my Fastpass+ up to 60 days before my visit from the comfort of my computer instead of running around the park getting paper tickets.  However, I was seriously bummed that you get to pick only 3 Fastpass + attractions ahead of time.  We had the old system down to where we could get 15 or more Fastpasses a day!

Now for the Disney updated……
Disney listened to guest feedback and you can now get more than 3 Fastpass+ at more than one park too!

How to get MORE Fastpass Pluses [like 15 or more!]

Step 1   Pick 3 attractions (all at the same park) from the convinience of your computer up to 60 days before your visit for resort guests and 30 days ahead for all other guests. [here is how to do that]
Step 2    Use all 3 of your pre selected Fastpass +
Step 3    Get more Fastpass +, one at a time, in any park, at one of the convinient Fastpass+ Kiosks located throughout the park.
Step 4    Continue getting more Fastpass+ each and every time you use up your existing Fastpass as long as there is availability.

So Can you REALLY get 15 or more Fastpass+? Yes!!

So, does it work?

YEP!

We recently took a trip to Disney and tried it out.  Not only where we able to get 15 Fastpass+ in one day at the Magic Kingdom, we were able to get them very quickly one after the other.
Here is how it worked for us: After we rode Peter Pan [using up our final Fastpass+ we reserved online] we went to the Fastpass+ Kiosk outside of Mickey’s Philharmagic a mere 15 feet away. I scanned my magic band and was able to make new fastpass+ selections for everyone in our party. I picked Buzz Light Year which had a window just 15 minutes from now. By the time we walked over there we walked right up to the Fastpass lane and right on the attraction. We finished riding Buzz Light Year and went to the convinient Fastpass+ Kiosk outside Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor just 10 feet away. I selected Winnie the Pooh. The window was just 5 minutes from then. Again, by the time we walked to the ride we literally walked right on the ride. Love this!!

Now I am not promising it will work out that easily each and every time you use it. During peak times and as more and more guests take advantage of getting more fastpass+ I am sure availability will go down. And good luck even getting an original Fastpass+ to Frozen let alone one later in the day! But this system works!

The tweaked Fastpass+ System allows you the flexibility and convenience of reserving attractions online, including things like parades which were not available before, while still offering guests the ability to utilize the system to the fullest for those that want to do so.
In my humble opinion, Disney has got the ultimate convenient guest planning tool that will make guests VERY happy!

  1. So these kiosks you went to...are they new? We were there last Sept & it was just the put your ticket in, fast pass spits out for that specific location only.

    1. They are new Sarah. All the "old" ones are either covered up or removed at this point. The stations are connected to the entire park so for example the one in Fantasyland is by the Philharmagic, but I can get Fastpass+ for Splash Mountain or Space Mountain...

  2. We despised the new system when we were there in May. If you dont' get your online FP early in the day, you can't use anymore until you have used those. If you pick FP at one park later, you can't get FP earlier at another. I really think this is system that needs fixing

    1. What I love about Disney is they are working on tweaking things as they get feedback. When it was first rolled out you could only get 3 fastpasses. period. So this is an improvement..... I am sure with more guest feedback they will refine it even more =)

  3. You mentioned it is difficult to get Frozen Fastpass+ ahead of time. So even if you book 30 days out, no luck?

  4. It's hard, but not impossible. If you are flexible about time and get them as soon as possible it can be done =) Remember it is 30 days out for all guests and 60 days out for resort guests!

  5. Am I reading your post right? You rode 1 ride and then were able to add a 4th pass? I thought you had to use all 3 and then book a 4th? I'm confused...

    1. Anette you do have to use all 3 initial fastpass+ first. Note in my example I said we used our LAST initial Fastpass+.....then we went to the Kiosk. =)

  6. Beth - awesome blog thanks for the tips. We head there Jan 17th for a week, hoping that they still have these options in play for more FP+'s. We booked kind of late so we haven't been able to get FP+ for Elsa/Anna meet & greet. I was thinking we would head there first after rope drop to avoid a long wait - what are your thoughts?

    1. Depending on the number in your group sometimes they become available (like as people who booked multiple make up their mind and change fastpasses) If you have an early breakfast in the park you'll be at the front of the line.... if not, yep just trying to be towards the front with the rope drops back in fantasy is your best bet. It will still be a line, but not as bad as it would be if you went back later in the day. Have FUN!
