Hi! My Name is Beth Gorden
First and foremost, I am a child of the risen Lord! I mostly grew up in Madrid, Spain where my parents served as missionaries. Yep – I speak Spanish fluently! As a result, I love traveling and exploring the world. I met my best friend and husband-to-be in college. We graduated college, got married, and in a couple years we were blessed with our first child! We live in the Midwest of the United States in suburbia, although I think a 5-10 acre sustenance farm would be ideal! I love to sing (Alto’s Rule!), work in our churches children’s ministry, cook, hang out with friends, play board games, snuggle up with hubby, travel, garden, and hang out with my family. I am a blessed woman!
My Family
I’ve been married to my best friend for over 20 years. We have 3 biological children and 3 treasures adopted from China. Being a mother is my favorite thing I’ve ever done. Don’t get me wrong, we have hard days like everyone else, but these little people bring me such joy and I am so honored I get to be their Mom.
In late 2016, after over a year of endless paperwork, bills, and set-backs we wen to China to adopt two children. You can read their Adoption Story here. We’d only been home a couple months when we felt God calling us to go back again. To be honest, we laughed and thought God was kidding, but he kept nudging in the quiet way he does and in March 2018 we added another son to our family. You can read our surprise adoption story here. These kiddos are such precious treasures – we may have given them a home, but they have given us such joy. We are so privileged to get to be their forever family.
Our Homeschool
I never planned to home school! But when my husband asked if we were going to home school I felt like I owed it to him to research it. After months of scouring every book I could get my hands on trying to prove why we shouldn’t home school I actually realized not only was it a valid choice, but that God was softening my heart and I found myself wanting to home school. The first year was a little overwhelming, keeping it all organized is an ongoing thing, and trying to fit all my Mom, Wife, Friend, and Teacher responsibilities can require a little juggling – but I LOVE it! I am so glad we are homeschooling and I hope we get the PRIVILEGE of home educating our children for many, many years more!

Beth, could you please email me. I believe we live in the Sauk Valley Area and I am looking for connecting with more moms in my area that homeschool. I am so very excited about learning more about homeschooling. My email is ereveal3@gmail.com.
By the way I love your site… It is one of my top 3's that follow!
Thank you,
Liz Reveal, Homeschool mama
Beth, I am totally lost!! I need someone to contact me and tell me what to do to get my child out of public kindergarten here in IL and find a home school for him help help help!
@Elizabeth, honored to have you following along. Unfortunately, I don't personally know any moms in your area. Try asking your local library for support groups or searching online for homeschool groups in your area.
Enjoy the journey =)

Beth,
I love your printable memory book pages! I noticed you commented that you would be completing a set for grades 7-12. Did you ever do those? I would love to get a set from you!
