Instructions
Start by slicing the loaf of bread into bite-sized pieces. Next, place those delicious chunks into a 9″x13″ baking dish that you’ve lightly coated with cooking spray
In a big mixing bowl, start by whisking the eggs until they’re fully blended. Next, gently fold in the cream, sugar, pumpkin, salt, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice for that perfect autumn flavor
Pour that delicious mixture over your bread, ensuring it’s completely covered. Then, wrap it up with foil and let it chill in the fridge overnight. The next morning, take it out about an hour before you’re ready to bake, allowing it to warm up a bit. In the meantime, preheat your oven to 350°F
While that is sitting, let’s whip up the delicious crumb topping! In a bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, salt, and pumpkin pie spice. Next, use a pastry blender (or two forks) to cut in the butter until the mixture becomes nice and crumbly. Stir in the pecans
Just before sliding your pumpkin French toast into the oven, generously sprinkle on that delightful topping!
Start by baking your French toast covered with foil at 350°F for the first 30 minutes. After that, uncover it and continue baking for an additional 20 to 30 minutes, or until the top is beautifully golden and the pumpkin filling has set perfectly
Enjoy a warm pumpkin breakfast casserole straight from the oven, accompanied by a jug of rich maple syrup
