taco seasoning
Cheese - mexican or cheddar
large head of iceberg lettuce, chopped
sour cream optional
salsa or hot sauceoptional
tortilla chipsoptional
Taco Seasoning Mix
1Tablespoonchili powder
1teaspooncumin
1teaspoonsalt
1teaspoonblack pepper
1/2teaspoonpaprika
1/2teaspoongarlic powder
1/2teaspoononion powder
1/2teaspooncrushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
Mix together seasoning for homemade taco seasoning.
Brown ground beef in a skillet with a little olive oil. Meanwhile cut 1 onion and add to beef when almost done, brown throughout.
Drain excess fat, but don't put it down the drain without running hot water at the same time or it will make a thick fat layer and clog your pipes over time!
Add tomato sauce, seasoning mix, salt, pepper, and rinsed and drained kidney beans from can and cook 5 minutes over medium heat. Remove from heat and cover.
Toss in a large bowl or plate individual salads with shredded iceburg lettuce, ground beef mixture, cheese, chopped tomatoes, and sour cream. Optional - add salsa or cilantro as garnish on the top. Serve with tortilla chops
