Birthday Candles Playdough Mats

Whether it is your actual birthday or your very merry unbirthday, kids love birthday cakes and candles! These super cute birthday cake counting mats are a fun way for kids to practice counting to 10 while strengthening muscles in their hands at the same time.

Print out the playdough mats in color and laminate for durability and repeated use. Or, if you prefer, there is a black and white option kids can color in before practicing counting. Personally, we like the colors ones because not only are they super cute, but it allows us to work on color recognition at the same time – I love learning activities that focus on several skills at the same time!

Now, have toddler, preschool, prek, and kindergarten age kids practice making candles out of playdough. Then put the appropriate number of candles on the birthday cake. Again, you can add in color recognition, patterns, measurement activities, etc.  all at the same time.

You can grab these FREE Birthday Candles Playdough Mats from our new site Preschool Play and Learn.
