Top 25 chapter book series for first grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade. These are great series for summer reading to get kids excited about reading for reading clubs.

Once your children discover the love of reading they will need to read lots of books to not only satisfy their newfound interest, but to keep it growing to create a lifetime love of reading. Sometimes it can be hard, really hard, to continually find great books for your kids to read. That is where chapter book series come in. Series will keep your child’s interest book after book as they are already familiar with the characters while enjoying new story lines. It also makes it very easy to just pick up the next book in a series to keep your kids reading all year and summer long!

  1. Great list! We love the Geronimo Stilton books and recommend them to everyone we know! Did you know he also has a sister Thea Stilton? She has her own series now too. :)

  2. Beverly Cleary and Encyclopedia Brown were my kids favorites off this list. Judy Moody would be a great addition to this list!

  3. Great list! I would add Junie B. Jones to the mix as well.

  4. We also like Cam Jansen and American Girl historical books. And Clementine.

  5. Series will keep your child’s interest book after book as they are already familiar with the characters and rewrite my paper easily. This is very useful i must say.

  6. As a homeschooling, disney loving family, really enjoy reading your posts. This is a great selection of books x

  7. After reading Junie B. Jones and The Stupid Smelly Bus to my 6 year old daughter and my 8 year old son, I really have to disagree with anyone who would want that series in this list. Bad grammar, bad behavior, and no consequence for her actions! That's so not right. I do feel bad for the writer of that series for having passed away, but bad grammar, bad behavior, and no consequence for the little girls actions does not sit right with my two children. My two kids were disappointed in Junie B. Jones for not getting a consequence for her actions, because in reality young or old everyone has a consequence for their actions. This is just our opinion, but our family gives Junie B. Jones an *F* for Foul little brat.
